Bush Republicans, and their Laws...

Georgia state Rep. Bobby Franklin (R) has authored a bill which require miscarriages to be investigated by authorities. Franklin's bill would classify the removal of a fetus from a woman for any reason other than to produce a live birth or to remove a dead fetus as "prenatal murder." Although the legislation would not place any criminal penalties on natural spontaneous abortions, it would require miscarriages to be reported by hospitals and other medical institutions and a fetal death certificate issued. And conceivably, create a requirement in the police force for officers of the peace to check the uterus of a woman and verify that she did in fact have a miscarriage. The penalty in the bill equates any violation of the law to, effectively, an act of murder.

As if a woman undergoing this trauma needs something else to worry about, in her life?

Bush Republicans are great, aren't they? Just when you think they couldn't do anything more stupid than waste 6 trillion dollarsbuilding the biggest bureaucracy in the history of the US, and oversee our country - during the Bush administration - to plummet from the top of the chart to 14th out of 34 OECD countries for reading skills, 17th for science and a below-average 25th for mathematics.

Bush Republicans were responsible for the economic crash in our country - and then they walk away from doing anything to clean it up. They fought tooth and nail to try to stop healthcare reform. And now that the benefits are rolling out and the economy is getting better - they stick their heads in the sand and spend all their time passing dog and pony show legislation. Bush Republicans combine the church and the state, and that's a strange combination for a so called conservative - shouldn't the business of the state be something that can be verified in hard numbers, and not "faith"? And since when is it conservative to try to limit people's rights and abilities? How conservative is it, to have more police doing more snooping around in the affairs of women and men?
