A Simple and Naturalist Cosmogony

When I was young, I had a girlfriend who wore alot of black. She looked good in it. And I loved to be around her, for whatever reason. I was a physics major. She was arts. She took me to museums, art installations, theater. She sang Pink Floyd to me. We slept together in her top bunk while her lesbian roommate fucked her girlfriend in the bunk below.

Sometimes, things just become clear if you keep following a path that seems the most natural. Questions that children can ask when they're very young. Whether or not you're busying running away from hearing them. We were pretty simple. And raising children can be pretty simple, too.

If you listen to your heart.

Non dual explanations of how the universe came to be... ok.. I mean explanations that things appear distinct, while not actually being separate .. will tell you that you're chasing parked cars. They will tell you you can't understand the beginnings, endings and the nature of existence itself, - that the universe can't be seen as a miracle.

And then there's that first kiss. Or maybe that first heartbreak. And the world goes physically soft around the edges. The same as when my daughter was born. Everything I saw - whether it was because I was sleep deprived, or just because... had these soft edges to it.

Its like everything was turned into a melody.

I've been working on a cycle called Gaikokujin, mostly because there's someone out there in the world that has pushed me - like a master leads a dog - to realize that what really turns us on are not the acts of sex but that we visualize having sex with someone. A particular person. You can fuck great, but does it really mean you're going to come really hard? Not always. You'll come. Thats a given. But are you going to really fall apart. Why do we want it so bad?

Because we're tired of being so together. We are , in the dance between a man and a woman - echoing the infinite. It really is that powerful. And that gets back to non dualism - the idea that things are really all one thing. At some point. They were.

But we changed that. And thats where the universe began. We folded space and time. We were at the right place, the right time -and we willed it. Just as a woman can will herself to bear the pain of childbirth. A man can drive himself on through an Ironman Triathlon. A poet can shape and form language. Even, a tribe of people in the Amazon- with no words for past, present or future tense - no words that indicate quantity - to sing to their children a language that teaches them all they need to know to adapt to the tangled bank. Think for a second. No word to indicate direction or quantity. But the Mother sings to the child. She wills the language into existence. It was there, just as the seed of a plant is there. But she sings it into being.

How is this so different from our experience? How does this contradict, a natural explanation for what happened to start things off? Atheists by and large like to argue that you have to have full separation. Black is not white. White is not black. That the two colors are distinct because we experience them to be so. And so, at the beginning of the universe -there is no rational answer for why the universe began. Because at time equal to zero - the quantum that they use to describe everything - the notches in the ruler - get jammed into a single point like the period at the end of this sentence.

What you need to remember is that there were likely two dots .. (.)(.)
and from them are drawn perfect lines - if the dimension in which you're reading this is included. And you're reading it. You're not bound into the flat plane of this page wondering how many angels dance on the head of a pin. You can close your eyes.. and visualize.. or will a line into being that stretches through this page and straight through the dot. The universe operates in eight dimensions, so the four you're using there work really well to describe a single line. But at the beginning there was another.

So anyway. Back to my girlfriend. What if, her presence alone made the difference in my life. It wouldn't matter where I was at physically, chemically - or even geographically - as any long distance relationship you've ever had would attest. As long as she is alive. She can change you.

When you realize that you have grasped the concept of an infinite creator - as a geometry. Its simple. Two lines, two beings. Two planes of spacetime that are in themselves their own manifold. And you have infinity. Want to try it with your husband? Or your wife? (or ,if you're a single girl - your pet cat?)

Ok. Think of a number. Then ask her (I'm selfish, I think of her as a girl - you can think of him as a him if you want, hey - thats what catholic priests did, right?)... ask her to think of a number greater than yours.

And if you fall asleep and you dream together. Then you are infinite. By induction. And so the two that we understand - form a natural basis for how the universe began. Something we all love to do. But they just added a few extra dimenions and a few things that were around at the time to keep things roped tight just in case the pain carried it all too far.
