Hurt - MichaelTrent Reznor

Image
I hurt myself today to see if I still feel. I focus on the pain the only thing that's real. The needle tears a hole the old familiar sting. Try to kill it all away but I remember everything . What have I become? My sweetest friend .. Everyone I know Goes away In the end. And you can have it all - My Empire of Dirt - I will let you down I will make you hurt I wear this crown of shit upon my liar's chair full of broken thoughts - I cannot repair. Beneath the stains of time - the feelings disappear. You are someone else - I am still right here. What have I become? My sweetest friend? Everyone I know goes away in the end. And you could have it all My Empire of Dirt I will let you down I will make you hurt If I could start again a million miles away.. I would keep myself I would find a way

Julian Assange, and the Arab Spring

The Arab Spring is almost past, with a new sense of life spreading through the mid east. Tyrants have been overthrown, and people have stood up for democratic rule. They fight the good fight. Wikileaks has played a huge role in this fight. Not surprisingly - given that a multimillion dollar news media entertainment machine has been upended by a team of four people in a non profit. Wikileaks has not been reported upon in any other way other than to say "Julian Assange is in trouble". However, the delicate pathways that Libyan Tyrant Moamar Ghadafi - forged to hide his multi billion dollar spread of accounts - were revealed through wikileaks down to the last account number. Three days afterward, America pursued the largest financial account freeze in the history of our country - and successfully locked Ghadafi out of all of his accounts as a result. In Egypt, Syria, and Libya - people have used wikileaks to safely transmit information out of the country. Julian A

Death by Cancer

Cancer scares me. It's replicated life without purpose. Smarmy cells of pink quivering rubbery substance throwing blood tubes out to attach to everything and take over the entire host organism. Round, portruding tuberous tumours. People having their hair fall out. Life threatening Chemo. Liver function ceases. All life dies. And it can also take the form of little patches of skin that just don't heal. The ancient greeks felt that the worst death, was a death by drowning. They felt it was a death that held the most potential for a bad trip to the underworld. If they knew what Cancer would do to someone, I wonder if they would have changed their list. Cancer sucks. We should end it.

You'll be in my heart ..

Puppies and Bones

You dominate me and I trust you You tell me what to do You choose my mate I give you complete control I follow your word to lay me down at your feet by the fire I go with you on the hunt Suddenly I sense prey My instincts take I go rigid and point the way Blow it to hell and gone and then after, retrieve the body gently minding not to eat it what smells and tastes better than anything to lay down at your feet without mark from teeth You hold my puppies in your hand I watch your face Your smile is unmistakeable It is a smile of love I lick your face I am old My face turns grey You pet my head You have not aged I do not understand why but soon I will die When I am gone you remember me even as I remember fireplaces and bones My pups willlive on Have you kept one? In the wild They are small but please remember it's not the size of the dog in the fight it's the size of the fight in the dog

A 21st Century Review of "The Tree of Life"

Image
You'll be fully grown before that tree is tall. A quiet, simple statement made in the film "The Tree of Life" to a child. As childrenour parent's voices, their heartbeat - the warmth of their touch - combine with simple statements, and their love for us - to create a basis for memory, feeling and perception. Our earliest memories are almost always a little bit hard to describe. The first step you've ever taken. Your first nightmare. The first time you ever ate birthday cake. The first time you ever kissed a girl. The Tree of Life, named in the film after a tree that was planted, parent and child together - takes us to a place of childlike awe - a universe that continues to unfold before us. And it helps us to see that our full understanding of the universe, and its process of birth, growth, and decay - is still, even with all technological advancement, not unlike that of a child's. We whisper stories to others in symbols and scientific journals, of the
