A Subpoena , With Rove

Karl Rove has been subpoenaed for his role in the destruction of the American department of Justice. Rove , over the last eight years, was a major force in that downturn of our country collectively referred to as the Bush Republican years. His ideas of keeping America divided, were the primary driver behind "Mr. Red, White, and Blue" on your block wanting to hate your guts. This would still be a divided country if it were not for the fact that the very foundation of America itself, the basic writings of Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln and even Alex Hamilton - are all aligned against such men and their ideas that one party or another can claim exclusivity to patriotism. The proceedings against Rove will go a long way to righting the wrongs we have suffered as a country. Here's a Karl Rove Classic robodialer, from the Campaign for South Carolina in the 2000 republican primary ... They saw McCain breaking away from them in New Hampshire, and so they made up a little racist line or two about McCain's adopted Indian Daughter (actually adopted from Mother Teresa's Orphanage, of all places..)
Would you still vote for this man if you knew he fathered an illegitimate black child?

You remember this kind of politics, I am sure. Anything goes. If you're a spy , working to stop Bin Laden, and you happen to oppose the Bush Republicans - they will commit treason - blow your cover and broadcast your GPS coordinates to Al Qaeda, effectively so they can destroy you in public (viz. Valerie Plame). And then claim immunity. Suppose you fought for your country as McCain did. Rove-o-dialer will call your supporters and lie to them (see above).

Of course, all of this is made easier by Rove's evangelical friends .. I kid you not, that the White House spoke with every single week.

Rove will take the 5th Amendment. However, instead of a wink and a nod, Rove is getting subpoenaed. Instead of being paraded down the corridors of the halls of power, and having his advice listened to by the elite, he's going to be placed on the stand and interrogated over treason-class activities.

You can count on people like Karl Rove to take the fifth amendment. If he doesn't , however, it might be interesting to hear what he has to say. After all, the legacy of the era of the Bush Republicans may depend on whether or not he can cast his actions in the politicization of the Dept. of Justice, as a part of a system of governance that reflected the best interest of the republic. Bush will spend millions of dollars trying to found an institute and presidential library that will attempt to salvage the good of his presidency for the world's historical record. Perhaps it will begin here, with testimony from the man behind the man - the person who primarily drove Bush to the Governor's office of Texas, and on towards the White House.

Or then again, he may just take the fifth amendment and in cowardice, pulling a "Madoff" and smile as he walks away from the destruction.

It will be hard for him to avoid a simpering appearance as he exits the court - and it will be on youTube in the next 24 hours - if he did. He is clever enough to try to make a case for himself.

One cannot guess. Few are the sins of the father visited upon the son.
