The first

The air smelled of dust
after so long

This year was the warmest
a thin veil on the greenhouse
and on the leaves

The first
just hit ground
knocked everything around

And it smelled almost like a wildfire
gray, smoky - a little bit of electricity and destruction

There were not enough drops to keep the dust from coming back down

And then came the rest.
And I saw you.

And it rained.
