So Long, House!
Its a +beautiful+ home. Its very big, 2 floors, with a big basement that we use as an office. Like. 1,000 s.f. basement. Probably 4k space altogether. 3 Br, 2.5 - with a fourth room that could be converted into a BR (a den off the MBR suite). It has a porch, sits on 1.25 acres of land - with a 200 year old oak tree in the back. The landscape includes cherry, apple and almond trees - and azaleas in the front. Hardwoods on the main, tankless water heater. Sun room.
I am asking 212,000.00 to start although some people have already jumped in on that price. Its in a very nice part of Atlanta, right next to a protected area + borded on the front by a new park. Highest bidder takes all, after all - I'm 100 percent positive feedback on Ebay - why not start the listing off no reserve, 1.00 auction? LOL. Seriously, the nearest home to it sold after being on the market for 9 days, and it sold at 275k. The homes to the right are 300k and in front are 675k. There is no home like this on its block, and the area I'm in actually went up in value 1% over the last downturn. Why am I selling it like this? Two reasons. First, if you want it - you should take it now - this is the year you get tax credits for getting a home. Second, I believe in eBay - my view is that the market will set my price - and besides, I've lived in this place happily for 15 years, and despite having sunk alot into landscaping and a 45 year roof , and a cool tankless water heater (bosch), I am at a place in my life where I just want to jump out + I will get equity out of the deal. I have alot of equity in the home. Anyone want to bid? Ping me in the comments and I can connect you to my realtor. She's cool.
I wish I could be more specific here but I don't want to tie identity information to the blog post. I didn't say anything about the image, however.
Update: 12/18/09. Ok, I have a real offer and a closing date. I decide tomorrow whether or not to take it, but I probably will. I think, all in all, I did really well for my first home. Its a nice place. I got some equity out of it all. We will likely sign the deal tomorrow.
