Boost Mobile

I went up into the beautiful mountains yesterday and roaming on Boost Mobile coverage worked almost two thirds of the time out there. Along the highway and major roads, coverage was pretty good.

The Sanyo Incognito is a phone with a few rough edges. The smooth dialing surface of the external phone is hard to work with - it's like dialing a phone number on a mirror. Unlike an iphone, where you can use your thumb pretty well - you almost have to use your finger - and the keyapad - unlike an iphone - is pretty dim. Its definitely a whole lot of no fun trying to dial a number while you're driving down the road. My RAZR was great - I could dial any number I wanted to just by feel. Using a thin sheet of plastic film on the Incognito gives you what you need in terms of dialing without marks. But the RAZR let me push my thumb against the center and it gave me a great feel. I miss it.

Things are working out with Boost Mobile but IMHO the phone misses the mark. Ringtones don't download properly. GPS is actually a Web App and its 10.00 extra a month. The MP3 player sounds like an eight track. But the plan is unbeatable. If I double down and find a good phone - probably their blackberry is the best way to go - I think this will work out. Since everyone and their mothers brother wants this incognito ... I think I'm going to flip my flip phone.
