Boost Mobile FTW

Switched over to Boostmobile after having finally found a Incognito and it works great. Touch sensitive keypad, GPS, Mobile Web, MP3, 2MP camera, Text, Full QWERTY Keyboard - and unlimited roaming, text, web, and long distance.

The Nexus One will be out for the BoostMobile / CDMA network in November. They are handling GSM models only (meaning, Tmobile and AT+T). The max speed on the Boost network is about 128kbps based on a 2mb test I did tonight. But given that the Nexus will be coming along for the network - and the fact that I can put my entire family on the network for less than 100 bucks and have that last three months. I'm sold. Kids don't use cellphones like we do. They use them once or twice, forget about them for three months. So I charge up their phones with prepaid and then my phone gets hammered with usage and its holding up. Although I am still piszt at the fact these guys are running a proprietary IDEN/ CDMA Network - it works and the phone so far is completely incomprehensible and fun.

My life has changed! My number port took all of four hours. I was supposed to work on the number porting project - and I know what it means to have gone from 2 days to 4 hours out there. Things have to be working better on the carrier side. Maybe even one day we'll actually have decent service in the US - even while Japan went to the 2100 Mhz band and supposedly dropped half their antennas out of service thanks to the penetration.

Rock On.
